This concert showcases two enormously popular Russian works -- Rachmaninoff’s
beloved Piano Concerto #2, a brilliant example of Russian romanticism, and
Shostakovich’s monumental Symphony #10. Composed months after Stalin’s
death, Symphony #10 is a dramatic work of epic proportions. Challenging and
introspective, it is musical caviar guaranteed to take listeners on a provocative
journey.
